Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach
Welcome to another episode of The Coach’s Circle Podcast!
Our show is all about showing you everything the world of coaching has to offer–what it is, what it isn’t, and whether it might be the right career choice for you.
Through our conversations with professionals in a variety of different mental health and wellness fields, you’ll gain valuable, real-world insight into their careers and consider how their experiences might impact your own career choices. Our interviews will feature coaches, therapists, counselors, personal trainers, and other professionals who incorporate coaching into their practices. Our hope is that these varied perspectives will help you come to understand exactly the type of coach you were meant to be.
Today’s special guest is Katie Quick, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach based in Denver, Colorado.
- Why Katie decided to focus on teachers as the focal point of her work
- Katie’s advice on choosing a niche when starting your career
- How Katie provides education and training for teachers in addition to emotional support
- Why playing (live!) music is such an integral part of Katie’s work
“I realized that teachers need this knowledge. Somebody needs to hold space for this group of people. I was thinking of all the times when I was a teacher and felt so alone and so burnt out, and I wished that someone was there for me. Because it’s all about the kids, which is great, but I think that teachers as a group are just…forgotten. We kind of breeze right past them. Because I had spent so much time in the profession and didn’t always have the most glorious experiences, I wanted to take these skills and go back and help my fellow teachers.”
